We rented a unit to store excess business furniture. After the walk-thru, I signed the contract and paid a month in advance. Asked for a copy of the contract. The owner stated that they normally do not give copies; but she would email one. Never sent.
Two months, later I had to threaten going to the BBB to get a copy. The other owner also stated they do not give copies. Perhaps this is an unethical endeavor to increase late fees or seized assets revenue.
My advice if that if you wish to use this storage unit firm, INSIST on a copy of the contract upon signing or making payment.
