the post above was done in 2013, after putting this up we ended up switching credit unions and I have this to say now:
use your debit card frequently--fees
no direct deposit and balance of $500 in your account--- $5/month
After 'eating' their fees and dealing with their disrespect for almost 10 years we finally switched. I was so disillusioned with credit unions I figured we would just be stuck in the same crap as at United One...but we were really REALLY shocked at how different service can be at another credit union. We have been with Community First Credit Union for over a year now and I can't say enough good about them!!! Screw you United One...go suck money off the sheep of manitowoc --- you are just TAKING ADVANTAGE OF PEOPLE who don't know better. And with that money I hope your greed and shameful behavior ends up ruining your souls.

HORRIBLE SERVICE. Avoid this place like the plague. Sure you may think that because they call themselves a credit union and they have "united" in their name that you will get treated with respect and a member (which is what makes a bank different than a credit union...at a credit union you are actually a member not just a customer.)
This credit union has lately created many small fees to raise revenue. Just like the big banks, these scammers care nothing about the customer (members..HA), rather they would like to collect your money to remodel its branches. There are many better options available to people, DO NOT SETTLE FOR GREEDY CREDIT UNIONS. UnitedOne will not have my business anymore.
I love coming to the credit union. Nick is by far the best person to talk to here. He cares not just about what you are doing there but about you as well. I dont care about small fees. The service here is great and very friendly
Anyway, United One has decided to nickle and dime fees from its members over the past couple years....which shouldn't be a surprise because they have always been an extremely difficult place to get credit with. Unless you have an absolutely perfect credit report expect to have to beg, plead, and jump through hoops to get anything. I recall several times leaving the branch on 10th street with my wife and feeling drained and dirty from having to plead to these people. They don't respect you. They don't care what your opinion is, they don't want you to stay as a member, they want you to pay their fees and take it.
